Government Representative

Who we are

Arqus is a space defence company. Our mission is to keep order in orbit. Just as a fighter jet secures the skies and a navy ship secures the seas, we are building the systems that will protect every asset above us, the satellites our economies, our security, and our daily lives now depend on.

Space has become contested. As the orbital domain fills with infrastructure and threats alike, Europe cannot afford to leave its most critical assets undefended. We believe Europe must have sovereign means to deter, defend, and uphold law and order beyond the atmosphere, and we take the responsibility of building those means seriously.

We are an ambitious team of engineers, physicists, and operators applying directed-energy and autonomy to one of the hardest problems there is. We are looking for mission-driven people who want to defend the high ground, and who welcome honest debate about the use of force in space, its limits, and its ethics.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You are our voice towards governments and armed forces. You build and manage relationships with MoDs, procurement agencies, ministries, NATO, the European Commission, and space agencies. You own the full chain: stakeholder mapping, outreach, tenders and market surveys, operator demonstrations, and follow-up. If a door stays closed, it is yours to open.

What you’ll build

  • Relationships with MoDs, especially with the Bundeswehr, BAAINBw, BMVg, and other German and allied government stakeholders

  • Engagement with NATO, the European Commission, EDA, ESA, and national space agencies

  • Responses to tenders, market surveys, and calls for defence and space programmes

  • Positioning at defence and space events, exhibitions, and working groups

  • Support on export control, security, and certification processes with the relevant authorities

What we are looking for

You must have NATO member state citizenship.

Required

  • Degree in Political Science, Law, Business, Engineering, or equivalent

  • 5+ years in government, the armed forces, or defence industry business development or public affairs

  • Working knowledge of German and European defence procurement

  • Fluent German and English

  • You have moved a public customer from first contact to a programme or contract

  • Eligibility for a German security clearance

Good to Have

  • Military service or officer background

  • An existing network in the Bundeswehr, BAAINBw, or BMVg

  • Experience with EDF, NATO DIANA, NSPA, or similar programmes

  • Familiarity with export control (BAFA) and dual-use regulation

  • Space sector or ESA experience

  • French or another European language

Full-time, on-site in Munich. Early-employee equity.
