Internship / Thesis

Who we are

Arqus is a space defence company. Our mission is to keep order in orbit. Just as a fighter jet secures the skies and a navy ship secures the seas, we are building the systems that will protect every asset above us, the satellites our economies, our security, and our daily lives now depend on.

Space has become contested. As the orbital domain fills with infrastructure and threats alike, Europe cannot afford to leave its most critical assets undefended. We believe Europe must have sovereign means to deter, defend, and uphold law and order beyond the atmosphere, and we take the responsibility of building those means seriously.

We are an ambitious team of engineers, physicists, and operators applying directed-energy and autonomy to one of the hardest problems there is. We are looking for mission-driven people who want to defend the high ground, and who welcome honest debate about the use of force in space, its limits, and its ethics.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You join the team as an intern or thesis student and work on real hardware from day one. No side projects: you take a defined problem from our C-UAS systems or space payloads and solve it end to end, with the founders and engineers next to you. Topics span mechanics, electronics, control, RF, optics, thermal, software, and space systems. You own the full chain of your project: concept, build, test, and write-up. If it comes back wrong, it is yours to fix, with help close by.

What you’ll build

Your options are only limited by your imagination:

  • Mechanical designs, mechanisms, and test fixtures

  • Embedded electronics, firmware, and control loops

  • Detection, tracking, and autonomy software

  • RF and signal processing prototypes

  • Thermal and structural analyses correlated with test

  • Marketing & Communications

  • Employer branding

  • Project management

  • Business strategy

  • Human Resources

  • Studies and simulations for our space payload

  • Bachelor's or Master's theses in cooperation with your university

What we are looking for

You must have NATO member state citizenship.
